Muscatine County Attorney Fine Collections

The Muscatine County Attorney’s Office offers payment plans to assist you in payment of delinquent fines. Participation in a payment plan with the County Attorney’s Office may allow you to obtain your driver’s license back, register your vehicles, and/or renew your license plates as long as program requirements have been met.

Payment Plan/Payroll Deduction Option

Payment options include monthly payments or payroll auto deductions with the cooperation of your employer but it is always the defendant's responsibility to make sure payments have been withheld by checking their paycheck stub. If payment has not been withheld, you will need to make the payment(s) yourself.

If you are unable to print this form, EMAIL the office and request that a form be sent to you by mail.  If you are unable to email the form once completed, you will need to mail the form to the office.

Driver's License Reinstatement

To enter into a CAPP plan, you must contact our office and provide your name, social security number and date birth then 1-2 weeks later you’ll receive license reinstatement forms in the mail as long as you are current in your payment plan. Once completing a Financial Affidavit Application, providing receipt of auto insurance paid and current in payment plan, then we will work with the Clerk of Court and DOT to release your license.

Registration and Renewal of Motor Vehicles

Will need a 3 day notice for release for registering/renewing. You will need to be current in your payment plan PLUS make a payment of 10% of fines or $100, whichever is greater.  As long as you never default on a payment plan, this additional fee is only required once.
